"When he speaks, I hang on to his every word .. its like music to me. My father. He is a song ... we sing in tune. He just gets me. His first born. Every year on father's day, he thanks me for making him a father. We are connected.
Everyone always says that I have a way with words. That I talk with so much color and I always know just what to say. That I can say things in a way that sense is made with ease of understanding.
I’ve always wondered where this gift originated ... I know from where it was manifested. But from where was it molded ...
Over the past few weeks, I have been struggling. We are in a time where life is uncertain. I have needed my father so much during this time and he has been there (even as an adult, he is still my father. I am still his little girl) and a few weeks ago he stated to me .... "We already knew Black Lives Mattered ... we don't want to hear that any more! BLACK LIVES ARE EQUAL" and that resonated with me. Today in a family conversation, my father further expanded his view on this issue.
... while reading words that my father wrote, expressing himself so passionately, with color ... in a way that sense was made with ease of understanding, IT CLICKED!
My words were molded by my father, we sing the same song, we speak the same words, we love the same love. We create the same greatness.
